Tracking Online Communication
Purpose:
1. To create a tracking system to ensure balance between individual, small group, and large group communications. 2. To track individual communications to ensure that all students receive some individual attention throughout the course.

Management Considerations:
Individual: A great deal of individual correspondence can be group processed. If feedback on assignments is provided to all submitted assignments, this can be recorded after the fact. If certain discussion boards are devoted to individual responses to students, this can be done after the fact. You can also use the email feature in Blackboard to send individual emails to students and receive a receipt in your normal email. This is a great reminder to go back and check off individual correspondence.
Small Group: One message to a group within Blackboard allows you to communicate with multiple students. Using the email feature in Blackboard sends a receipt to you.
Large Group: Announcements reach all students so it is easy to mark this section for every announcement. General statements in the discussion board are also available for all students so these can be recorded easily as well.
