Visual Text Box Editor - How To
The upper formatting buttons area and the Path area can be hidden from view by using the Collapse/Expand toggle button on the left-hand side of the area. When an area is "expanded" (i.e. viewable), the toggle arrow points upward, and when the area is "collapsed" (i.e. hidden), the toggle arrows points downward.
Accessing Functionality on the Visual Text Box Editor
You can use the controls which are present on the tool bar to format text in much the same way as you would use a word processor (e.g., Microsoft Word). The various areas of the Visual Text Box Editor are shown in the image below. The top portion consists of three collapsible rows of buttons which can be used to modify the format of the text in a variety of ways; the middle area is the text box where you can enter text (or code); the bottom collapsible area shows the Path, which indicates which HTML or Microsoft Word tag(s) are currently in use.
The Visual Text Box Editor also has several new features including: Strikethrough Text, Subscript, Superscript, Clear Formatting, Toggle Between HTML and Text and changes to the WebEQ and MathML tools.
Attaching files in the Visual Text Box Editor
Users have the option of attaching different types of files to the Visual Text Box Editor. Do not copy and paste a file from one text box to another; this will cause errors. The table below explains which button in the Third Row of the Visual Text Box Editor is used to add different file types.
