Using the Course Calendar
Why?
- The Course Calendar is one way to remind students about due dates for assignments and examinations while reinforcing the course schedule.
- The Course Calendar can be printed on a screen-by-screen basis or viewed within the course.
- The Course Calendar provides a familiar context for students to understand the flow of the course.
Implications for Teaching and Learning.
Promising Practices for TWU.
- We encourage instructors to inform and teach students about the My Calendar module.
- Clear written explanation of the purpose and use of the Course Calendar early in the course is recommended.
- We encourage you to inform students about the My Calendar module available on each student’s Blackboard page. This is one additional way to push information to students.
How?
- Go to Control Panel / Course Tools / Course Calendar
- Select the View (View Day, View Week, View Month, View Year)
- Select Add Event
- Enter the Event Name and Description
- Set the Date and Start Time and End Time
