Resizing Photos Using Paint
1. Open Paint. (Start – Programs – Accessories – Paint).

2. Click File – Open and select your photo / graphic.
3. In Paint, go to Image – Stretch / Skew (keyboard shortcut: Ctrl – W).
4. The stretch proportions were set to 100%. Change the stretch proportions (equally!) to shrink the size of your picture. Click OK when you’re done. Your photo should now be smaller.
5. Save your photo with a different name (so you always have the original). Make sure you choose JPG format for photos (GIF for logos and other clip art-type graphics).

6. To see the difference in your file sizes, browse to the file location and open the folder to view file Details.
7. In the Details view you can now see the file size difference in the original photo and the resized photo from Paint.
