Learning Objects Podcast Tool

What it is.

The Podcast tool within Blackboard allows instructors to upload their own audio/visual podcast files or link to podcast files from outside sources, such as ItunesU, into their online course.  The tool provides the means to "feed" this type of media into your course. Students may listen/view podcasts within Blackboard, or if the instructor enables the option, students may capture the podcasts and download them to a handheld device in order to listen to them on the go.

Implications for Teaching and Learning.

Podcasting allows for novel, flexible, and creative ways to deliver content to students, set up interactions, or summarize material. Podcasts can also be used to provide formative or sumative feedback.
