Messages

Users can now view the number of unread and total messages, as well as sent message recipients. An enhanced workflow enables users to more easily move and organize messages into folders. Users will also have a new option to select all users when composing a message.

How To Send a Message.

In addition to the Send Email tool, Blackboard lets you post messages to your instructor and classmates. But before you use the Messages tool, it is important to make sure your instructor and/or classmates use Blackboard Messages. Do not post a message and just assume your instructor has read it. Always follow up to ensure your message was received AND read!

  1. Click Communication in the left navigation panel.

  2. Click Messages.

  3. Click New Message.

  4. To select message recipients, click To.

  5. Select a recipient in the left panel. Click the Add Recipient arrow.

  6. Enter Subject and message Body. When you have completed your message, click Submit.
