Importing a Course Cartridge
Blackboard Course Cartridges® are files of content, multimedia and test questions developed by educational publishers for delivery with particular textbooks.
While importing course cartridges into your course seems like a fast and easy way to have a ready made content, media and pools of questions for assessments, there are a few thoughts to consider. When creating your tests and quizzes, are the questions from the pool specific enough to prompt the student for the correct information you are looking for? Is there a clear relationship between the cartridge content and the rest of your course content? A good rule of thumb is to go through the content and test questions to make sure the material covers the material that would be covered if you were to manually prepare the content. Some content from cartridges may be edited, but the licensing policy on others allows the content to be loaded but not edited. Those that allow editing can be modified to cover exactly what you need. Each cartridge license must be inspected individually to see the terms. Course cartridges cannot generally be copied from one course to another or loaded into multiple courses.
Setting it Up.

2.Insert the Course Cartridge Key that you obtained from the publisher that accompanies the course text. You can also browse the catalog at the following Blackboard web address: http://cartridgecatalog.blackboard.com/search.aspx
Once the Course Cartridge Key is entered click on the Submit button.

Upon success of the download you will receive an email to confirm the download. For students to have access to the course cartridge, they must obtain a Access Key to open the Course Cartridge. Once the Course Cartridge is opened, the student does not need the Access Key to open the lesson.
