Create Discussion Forum, Post a Thread, Reply to a Thread

To create a Discussion Forum.

Control Panel > Discussion Board  

Click on the Link in the Discussion Board column to add a discussion forum.

Click the Forum link in the toolbar of the Discussion Board page. 

Give your Forum a name.

Provide a description in the text box giving students instructions on what you expect them to do in the forum.

Choose forum settings from the check boxes provided.

Click Submit.

To post a thread to a Discussion Forum.

Click on the name of your Forum from the Discussion Board page.

Click on Thread in the toolbar.

Enter a subject for your new Thread.

Type your message.

If neccessary, attach a file.

Click Submit.

To Reply to a Posting to the Discussion Board.

Click on the name of your Forum from the Discussion Board page.

Click on the Thread Title of a message to which you wish to reply.

Click one of the Reply buttons - either next to the thread name, or at the top or bottom of the displayed message.

Click the Show Original Post link to view the original message, if you like.

Type your reply in the message text box.

If neccessary, attach a file.

Click Submit.
