Course Name and Description
Why?
Sometimes the course title needs to be changed for your course. Maybe you have combined sections and need a descriptive name so students know they are in the correct course...maybe you have information that you want students to see in the description. As instructor, you have control over the name and description of the course within Blackboard.
Implications for Teaching and Learning.
The Course Name and Description selection allows you to change the course title and to enter a description for your course. The course title appears on the "Blackboard 7" and "Courses" tabs of Blackboard for you and any users enrolled in the course. When courses are created the course title entered is the one that appears in the course catalog. No description is entered for your course so you can enter your own if you wish.
Setting it Up.
Follow the steps below to open the Course Name and Description page.
Select Course Options/ Settings
Click Course Name and Description

Description: Enter a description of the course (if desired)
Course Classification: Subject Area Select the subject area that best describes the course. (if desired). The subject area can be further defined by discipline. (if desired).
